From the park, take trail no. 6 through Mair in Plun and the Pfroder Alm until you get to the Totenkirch Church. From here, stay on trail 6 in the direction of the Schwarzsee Lake and Moar in Ums where aou switch to trail 16B, which takes you to Prackfiederer Jöchl. Take trail 16 and then 16B past the Marzuner Schupfe. Trail no. 15 takes you back to Mair in Plun, where you switch almost immediately to trail 23. This takes you to the Rinderplatz mountain refuge hut. Follow trails 23 and 24 back to the Gasser mountain refuge hut.

At the Saltnerstein parking area (1,757 m), follow hiking trail no. 6 to the Mair in Plun mountain hut. Take the wide mountain trail no. 7/A (changes to no. 7) uphill to the Gasteiger Sattel (2,058 m) from where a stunning panorama opens out over the Sarntal Alps. From the ridge turn right and follow trail no. 3, which runs on a track across the wide meadows down into a valley, past a small waterfall and up the hill to the Sarner-Scharten-Biwak encampment (2,380 m). From the ridge, follow the wide trail no. 2 to the first summit: the Sarner Scharte (2,468 m). Head downhill and after crossing the ridge ascend to the summit of the Villandererberg mountain (2,509 m).

After a needed rest at the summit, continue southeast along trail no. 2 to Zwölfernock mountain (2,430 m) then descend a steep stretch to Totensee lake (2,208 m). Return on trail no. 6 via the Totenkirchl (2,186 m), with a wide panoramic view of Totensee lake and the Dolomites forming a magnificent backdrop. Take the same way back and continue to the Gasserhütte mountain hut and to the Saltnerstein parking area.   

Tour length: 13 km, Tour duration: 4 h 30 min, Trail numbers: 6, 35, 28 Starting point is the parking lot Zans (1,685 m), where you can get easily by bus. First, walk along the hiking trail No. 6 towards Tschantschenon until you reach the bridge. Turn right and follow the Adolf Munkel Trail, No. 35. This trail leads you to Broglesalm hut (2,045 m) and from there you follow trail No. 28 descending to Ranui. A shorter circular hiking tour is to follow trail No. 35 until Gschnagenhardt Alm hutand Geisleralm hut. Then the trail No. 36 leads to Dusleralm hut and back to Zans. • Tour lenght: 9 km • Tour duration: 3 h • Trail numbers: 6, 35, 36

Starting at the Barbian town square (830 m) follow the signs to the waterfalls – Wasserfallweg, leading south to Haus Urban. At the turnoff bear right on to trail no. 8, which partly runs along the Höfestraße farms road and then on a footpath across the meadows and through a forest. Before long, the track leads to the Lower Barbian Waterfall (1,000 m). Bear right, crossing over some stones and then follow the steep ascent to the Upper Barbian Waterfall (1,170 m). Surefootedness is essential!

To descend, follow the signs to Barbian on trail no. 6 and head north up a steep slope on the forest track, which is partly secured with cables. Soon after, a wide path opens up leading to Flatschhof farm (1,070 m). Continue on trail no. 6/A following the signs to Barbian through woods and meadows on a slight gradient to the upper side of Barbian and back to the starting point. 

The start of the circular hike on the Villanderer Alps is at the Gasser Hut(refreshments available). Follow trail no. 6 via Moar in Plun (refreshment stop) and the Pfroder Alm (refreshment stop) to Totenkirchl. From here, always follow trail no. 6 in the direction of  the Black Lakes (Schwarzseen) and Moar in Ums, where you change to trail 16B. This leads to the Prackfiederer Jöchl. On trail no. 16, past the Marzuner Schupfe (refreshment stop), then no. 15 back to the Moar in Plun, shortly afterwards change to trail no. 23. Here you go to the Rinderplatzhütte (refreshment stop) and then on trail 23 and 24 back to the Gasserhütte.

From the Huber Cross car park, take trail 4 on foot to the Rittner Horn. The trail is long, but not difficult and leads past wonderful alpine pastures. A fantastic 360° panorama awaits the hiker at the Superior  Horn. Continue downhill on trail no. 1 to the Unterhornhaus and continue on trail no. 15 to the mountain pine distillery. Turn right onto path 3 down to the to the Niggl and on 3B back to the Huber Cross.

In Gufidaun we start on the street towards Villnöss. At the Gnollhof Hotel, a trail leads us uphill through the forest. At the highest point of our tour we reach a clearing in the forest. Here our trail crosses another one and we take the descent towards Lajen. Beautiful trails through the forest are now behind us. Via Albions we continue downhill across meadows to Gufidaun. This last part of our tour proves to be technically difficult.
