From a wine estate to an inn, and then a hotel.
Passion for one’s profession is everlasting. Since 1917, the estate has been owned by the Mauracher family. They transformed the original farm into an inn during the economic crisis of the 1930’s.
Thus, the cornerstone of today’s hotel was laid. Once again, passion is the driving force that quickly makes the Rungghof a popular destination for holiday makers. That is due to our passion for the well-being of every single guest.
Today Manuel Ebner, a young chef awarded with 3 toques, has gained popularity thanks to his immense passion for cooking, the kingdom in which he creates his original dishes. He breathes new life into ancient recipes, experiments with spices and ingredients, and discovers unusual combinations—opening the door to the future. For traditional hospitality with a modern twist.
Again, welcome, and have a wonderful holiday!
Each building has its own story, even ours.
The term Rungg, which also refers to the surroundings of the residence, derives from the Middle Latin “runcare”, which means “to dig up”.
Here stood the home of the Runggers, a family mentioned for the first time in Oltradige in documents from around 1330. The family was dedicated to viticulture and the lively wine trade.
