Every farm has its history, and so does ours.

Our farm Ölackerer is situated at 650 m above sea level, directly next to the historic Novacella monastery. Surrounded by vineyards, you can enjoy a fantastic view of the monastery garden and the Bressanone valley basin.

According to the pedigree, the farm was already mentioned in 1692 and was taken over by our family in 1817. Our grandmother Aloisia Baumgartner and our grandfather Joseph Gasser ran the farm together with their children until Joseph died suddenly at the early age of 44.

Grandpa Augustin, the eldest son, was 16 years old and had to continue to run the farm with the help of his mother.

In 1979, Augustin married his Martha and they had three children: Alexander, Ingrid and Markus.

At that time our Ölackererhof was still a cattle farm with meadows and corn.

In 1988, after a small renovation of the residential house, the farm building became a robbery of the flames on 3^rd July. All the food stock and all the machines were destroyed, the cattle were brought to safety in time and could be accommodated in a neighbouring stable. The farm building was rebuilt with a lot of effort and so the cattle farming on the farm could be continued.

Markus attended the agricultural school for fruit and viticulture and changed the farm over to fruit and viticulture.

In 2011, we renovated the house with much love and perseverance: new and old were connected and two holiday flats were created: “apple” and “wine”.

2015 our oldest daughter Nina was born. In 2016 Markus and Hildegard got married and shortly afterwards they had Toni and Lisa.

In 2019, we rebuilt again and added three more holiday apartments to the old farm buildings: “cherry”, “ribes” and “nut”. In addition to our private family apartment we have also created some rooms for our guests. The new part of the Ölackererhof was rebuilt with great attention to detail to provide maximum living comfort.

The Ölackererhof is still a family business today, where vineyards and orchards are lovingly tended and harvested together. Hospitality is very important to us and we wish that our guests feel as comfortable at our Ölackererhof as we do.
