From the Schennaberg-Taser cable car mountain station, trail no. 40 initially leads to the little Taser Church and onto the Wetterhäusl viewing point. Here it continues along a wide, attractive forest track into the valley through the forest. At the end of the forest track the trail winds more or less flat across the steep mountain slopes and, after a final short climb, up to the Streitweideralm mountain hut.

There are numerous access points from the town centre:
• the steps leading up from behind the Duomo (main cathedral) along the road that leads to Dorf Tyrol
• from Via Galilei near the chairlift to Dorf Tyrol
• near the Silvana hill on Via Verdi
• from the Gilf-Promenade past the Gunppowder Tower
• on the orographic right side of the Ponte Romano

The western part begins at the car park in front of the Töllgraben bridge. The starting point can be reached by public bus Lagundo-Parcines/Partschins or by private car. The canal trail leads via the two districts of Lagundo, Plars di Sopra/Oberplars and Plars di Mezzo/Mitterplars, to the scenically located Lagundo village. From here continue through beautiful vineyards to the Merano district of Quarazze/Gratsch and the small St Magdalena Church.

Depending on how much you want to hike, you can continue on the Tappeinerweg trail into the centre of Merano or back to Lagundo. Source/Map: “Kompass, Merano and Environs”.

Start at the Texelbahn Cable Car mountain station in Parcines/Partschins and go up a short way to the Gasthof Giggelberg Inn. Then follow the Merano High Mountain Trail No. 24 in a westerly direction (1,500 m average). But be prepared to cross some significant altitudedifferences after Hochforch over the so-named “Gorge of 1.000 Steps”, connecting the Brunnental and Lahnbachtal ravines. Thanks to the new 55 m suspension bridge over the Lahnbach stream, the number of steps has been reduced, but climbing up the gorge stillrequires a considerable level of physical fitness. After arriving at the Pirchhof, the route to the Linthof is fairly straight-forward. Following Trail No.10, you arrive at the Unterstell Cable Car mountain station. Between Pirchhof and Unterstell, are a number of rest and refreshmentstops to choose from.

Take the cable car to the Hochmuth mountain hut. Trail no. 22 leads past Steinegg mountain hut  to the Mutkopf mountain hut, located at 1,684 m. The tour continues on forest trail no. 22/23 up over the ridge until the trail forks. Bear left and continue uphill on the undemanding trail no. 23 over the steep eastern ridge to the peak (2,295 m). This offers magnificent views of Meran and Environs, the nearby mountains of the Texelgruppe Nature Park, and the Passeiertal, Etschtal and Vinschgau valleys. Descend via the same trail. Sure-footedness is a must for this tour.

Travel past the Haashof and to the end of the tarred road. Proceed for a short time over the narrow dirt road downhill, until a forest road (Assenweg) branches off to the left. Carry on upward along this road to a fork, keep to the right, and continue up the dirt road that ends in the middle of the high pastures at the Assen hut.

Hintereggalm alp – Mahdalm alp – Rotmoos – Tallner Alm Kaser alp – Sonntagsweide – Stafell alp – Videgger Asse – Assenhütte hut – Videgg

To begin, take trail no. 40 from the mountain station at Klammeben up to the Hirzerhütte mountain hut. The route passes partly over alpine pastures and partly through larch forest to the Hintereggalm and then on to the Mahdalm mountain huts. Both alpine pastures have serviced huts and are great places to stop for a rest and refreshments. Next, following the signpost to Tall, continue along trail no. 2 down to the Gampenwiesen meadows and Gompm Alm mountain hut, then along a wide forest track downhill to Prenn, the mid-station of the Hirzer cable car.

As an alternative, proceed via Scena to Verdins, take the cable car and then the chair lift Talle-Grube. From the mountain station it takes about 30 minutes to reach Klammeben by foot.

Back country skiers may ascend to the Zuegg Hütte Mountain Hut via the hiking trail from Falzeben via the Rotwand Hütte Mountain Hut. From there, they can access the Waidmann Alm Mountain Hut (1,998 m) along the Mittelweg trail and then continue to climb to the high-altitude Kuhleiten Hütte Mountain Hut (2,362 m). The route described has been marked as the “Kuhleiten Route” by the landlord of the Kuhleiten Mountain Hut using blue signposts.

Night-time Regulations

On Thursdays and Fridays, preparation work is suspended along the “Kuhleiten Route” marked with blue signposts between 5.30 and 11 pm. Skiers are permitted to ascend via this route only from 5.30 pm. They must have completed their descent before 11 pm.

Permitted descent route: St. Oswald Piste> ski trail to the Rotwand Mountain Hut > Zuegg Mountain Hut > Falzeben. It is strictly forbidden to leave the marked descent route. Use of head lamps is mandatory!

The circular hike starts at the parking place Grüner Baum. Walk along the Schützenbrünnlweg, no. 14, to the Knottnkino. Here you can stop and enjoy the view. Walk then back along the trail no. 14 until you reach the crossroad with route no. 11. Follow this path to the Leadneralm. Take here path 38 to Waldbichl and No. 15 and 16B to Rohrer. Follow now the road no. 1 back to the car park, where you have started.

If you start at Meltina, take the hiking trail no. 4. This way leads to the parkingplace Schermoos, from where you can take path no. 1, which leads to Langfenn and the small church St. Jakob.  If you want to return to Meltina you can coninue path no. 1 and the following 12A until you reach the crossroad with path no. 6. This way leads directly to Meltina.

From the parking Schermoos above Mölten, the E-5 to the driver pond over in two hours

The excursion starts at Verano, at the parkingspace “Grüner Baum”. From here you walk until path no. 1 to albergo “Rohrer”, where path nr. 11 and 15 starts to Waldbichl. From here you reach you first destination, the “Leadner Alm” on path 38. You will reach your second destination aim, the “Möltner Kaser”, following path no. 15.

The Wurzer Alm Mountain Hut, at an elevation of 1,707 metres, is the starting point of the Mountain Pass Tour. The trail no. 2 leads over the Vöraner Joch pass (1,941m) to Auenjoch (1,924m). The Auenjoch is a starting point of many excursions. To get back follow the route no. 11 and 2A to the starting point.

After the cable car ride to the Vigiljoch, the hike begins at the mountain station at 1,450 meters a.s.l. Trail no. 34 leads to the small Church of St. Vigilius, the highest point on this hike.

From here trail no. 9 leads to the lake Schwarze Lacke habitat. Following the signposts for trail no. 7 the route then leads via a lovely panoramic trail to path no. 34 back to the mountain station.

At the Taser cable car mountain station follow the route marked 18A and hike along the steadily climbing trail through the forest up to the Ifingerhütte mountain hut. Next, heading to the east, the route leads after a further short climb to the Lenzeben forest clearing. Descending from here, the Taser Höhenweg high mountain trail leads down to the Eggerhof farm.  From here, the trail continues down to Schnuggerhof and Holznerhof farms until finally reaching the Taser cable car valley station.

The trail starts in the small mountain town of Pracupola/Kuppelwies near the Zoggler Stausee reservoir. Keep following the signs to the Ultner Höfeweg heading left into the valley along until you reach San Nicolo/St. Nikolaus and then continue on to Santa Gertrude/St. Gertraud. From here, the return trip is on the right side out of the valley. First follow the signs to the Ultner Höfeweg and then to the Ultner Urlärchen, the oldest larch trees in Europe, and back to San Nicolo. Finally you return to the starting point in Pracupola.
