Living in the here and now
Inspired by the Danish philosophy of life „Hygge“, that striving for well-being in a warm atmosphere that leaves plenty of room for all the good things in life, we have set ourselves our goal: Maintaining balance, living in the here and now and concentrating on the essentials.
For us as a family and for you as our guests. With the Amolaris, we have created a retreat where your personal well-being is the focus of our attention. A place where original values are lived as a matter of course, where privacy and service are harmoniously combined and the wishes of the individual count. Simply a place where you are well looked after and yet can experience special moments independently.
It all began with the Schanzener Musmühle, which was first mentioned in a document in 1779. “Mola”, Italian for millstone, is therefore also in the new name “Amolaris”, which is also phonetically reminiscent of the mill. And the names of the Premium Apartments, the holiday flats and the chalets also respectfully recall the cultivation of grain in Val Venosta and the craftsmanship of the millers, who have been processing grain into flour for us for centuries and thus make a significant contribution to our basic supply.
1970: Opening of the bed and breakfast “Obermühle zu Schanzen”. All rooms were already equipped with shower and WC. The breakfast room also served as a cosy get-together.
1975: A kitchenette was added to the rooms. The first holiday flats were built. Retreat rooms were created.
1986: Waltraud and Martin took over the Obermühle zu Schanzen from Martin’s parents and put their heart and soul into the conversion and extension.
1996: 3 new modern and comfortable holiday flats were built in the attic – mostly by the couple themselves.
2000: The indoor swimming pool was opened. In autumn of the same year, the 1st floor was lovingly renovated by hand.
2012: With the completion of the reception, a new information centre was created in the house.
2014: The renovation of the roof also brought about the renewed conversion of the holiday flats in the attic.
2019: In April, the two new Premium Apartments with sauna were completed. In autumn, work began on the new construction of the exclusive chalets and the Ristorantino.
2020: The opening of the luxurious chalets was celebrated in July. The Ristorantino also opened its doors at the same time.
