The hike begins at Tyrol’s largest pilgrimage site, the Maria Weißenstein monastery, which is well worth a visit. Numerous votive tablets demonstrate how, for centuries, the devout sought refuge and mercy from the mother of god in times of worry or distress. Trail S leads to the Schmiederalm and Lahneralm Alpine farms and the Bletterbach gorge. To return, follow trail no. 3 into the Kösertal valley, then take trails E5, 3, 4, and 9 back to the starting point. An exciting and adventurous day is guaranteed!
