This uniquely beautiful summit tour provides a panoramic view of the Rosengarten, Latemar and Zanggen peaks, as well as the surrounding villages in the Val d’Ega/Eggental valley.
The hiking trail begins directly at the Maria Weißenstein monastery (1,520 m), Tyrol’s largest pilgrimage site. Trail S and hiking trail E5 take you via the Kösertal valley and trail no. 5 to the peak of the Weißhorn mountain (3h). Return via the Jochgrimm Pass on trail no. 1, which continues to the Neuhütt Alm Alpine farm (working farm) and through the Kösertal valley to the Maria Weißenstein monastery (3h), which is well worth a visit. Numerous votive tablets demonstrate how, for centuries, the devout sought refuge and mercy from the mother of god in times of worry or distress.
