This is a very scenic tour, which mostly follows along a paved farm road. The Stafell Alm can be reached via well-maintained and relatively easy to navigate forest and natural roads.
From the artisan district, follow the narrow and sometimes steep tarred road in the direction of Tall to the small hamlet of Prenn (middle station of the Hirzer cable car). Continue straight on. Keep left at a fork in the road (signs Videgg and Grube). Shortly thereafter, at the mountain station of the Verdins-Tall cable car, follow the road in the direction of Videgg until the road branches off to the left (AVS alpine club signpost Grube – Stafell). Continue along the narrow, tarred road up to the next crossroads. This is where the forest road begins leading to the mountain inn Grube. Take this road and carry on to a right turn with an AVS alpine club signpost. Follow the forest road to the right to the next junction. At this point, keep left (right leads to the hamlet Videgg – signpost), and subsequently turn right at the next fork (signposts). This is the dirt road which leads up to Stafell-Alm.
