Details

From the parking lot below Juval Castle, a shuttle bus (subject to charge) takes visitors and hikers up the Juval Castle Hill. The hike begins at the end station, above the Schlosswirt inn and a little below the castle. Turning left, one reaches directly the beginning of the Tscharser Schnalswaal. Past the Waalerhütte with the Waalhammer, which can be heard from far away, you reach the Sonnenhof snack station after a few minutes. Via path no. 3 one reaches, at a relatively constant altitude, hiking towards Vinschgau until above Tschars. Over an asphalt road you descend a little steeply into the centre of Tschars and finally down to the state road Meran – Reschenpass. On the opposite side of the street, in the direction of Merano, there is a bus stop, or just after crossing the bridge over the Adige river, the train station of Ciardino is on the left hand side. In this way you can return to Naturno in comfort with the public bus or the Vinschgerbahn.
