The Knuttenalm is located at 1,911 meters in Riva di Tures/Rein in Taufers. Easy to reach in about 1 hour on a wide, slightly uphill forest road. Walking along the Knuttenbach, it is easy and pleasant – also suitable for a trip with a babystroller or for seniors.

From Lappago/Lappach to the Lago di Neves/Neveser Stausee the road is a narrow, winding one-way mountain road. From there you hike over the reservoir´s high dam and you turn offf onto trail nr. 26 and after 2 hours you arrived to the refuge.

The Neveser Höhenweg is considered to be one of the most beautiful mountain trails in South Tyrol and it joins the Nevesjoch/Chemnitzer Hütte with the Eisbruggjoch/Edelraut Hütte. The starting place is the Neves lake (1865 m).
Details
From Lappach to here the road is a narrow, winding one-way mountain road (subject to toll). You hike on the eastern, right side of the lake heading into the valley until at the end of the lake you turn off to the right following the signs for Chemnitzer Hütte (2419m). You can either stay on the forest road or take the shorter way on trail nr. 24 which leads you to Neves Alm and further on to Chemnitzer/Nevesjoch Hütte (lodge) (2419 m). From the lodge you continue on heading northwest on trail nr. 1 and go through marvellous glacier terrain passing under the mighty 3000 m high mountains of Turnerkamp and Gr. Möseler. The route continues for a long time with some slight ascents and descents until you reach the Eisbruggjoch/Edelraut Hütte (2545m). From there you turn off onto trail nr. 26 heading east and then finally reach the west bank of the Neves Reservoir at its orogr. right bank side heading out of the valley. Finally cross the reservoir’s high dam and you are at your starting place.

An impressive drama of nature is offered by the three Rio di Riva waterfalls which can be reached starting out from the hamlet of Bad Winkel. The Rio di Riva waterfalls are located in the Vedrette di Ries-Aurina Nature Park and offer an impressive view of nature above all else in the summer. Fed by melted snow, the Rio di Riva plunges in three cascades over the rock cliffs into the depths, making it possible for visitors to experience the power of water with all of their senses.
The St. Francis’Path with the 10 meditational spots lines the path of the Reinbach waterfalls up to the Franziskus and Klara chapel.
Walking time from the starting point “car park Cantuccio/Winkel; Wasserfallbar”:
– until the 1st waterfall approx. 20 minutes (40 m altitude difference) (up to the 1st waterfall suitable for baby stroller)
– o until the 2nd waterfall approx. 40 minutes (140 m altitude difference)
– o until the 3st waterfall approx. 55 minutes (170 m altitude difference) (from here return with the Fly-Line possible www.fly-line-wasserfall.eu)
– o until the Franziskus and Klara chapel approx. 75 minutes (300 m altitude difference)
