We feel very fortunate that hospitality and a love of honest and down-to-earth South Tyrolean gastronomy were something we were practically born with. After all, we grew up in our parent’s hotel and also grew up with the task of looking after our guests. After a few years of experience abroad, e.g. as “Chef Partie” on the luxury liner “Royal Princess”, and after 12 years of running a charming daytime café with a wonderful sun terrace in Merano, we were still dreaming of owning a luxurious hotel near our lively spa town.
The beautiful property in Avelengo, which our parents gave us as a wedding present in 1999, was to be the foundation stone for our Chalet Mirabell five years later. In 2004, in only eight months of construction time, the small Alpine Residence with 16 comfortable rooms was built. In 2002, our happiness was made perfect with the birth of our son Martin, who is already following in our footsteps today.
Following our vision of a 5-star hotel in the Alps, step by step we started cautious building projects, which brought us closer to our goal of running a 5-star hotel one day. In 2008, we decided to buy additional land and expanded to 30 high-quality rooms. At the same time, we invested in the expansion of our wellness & spa area with new relaxation rooms, a room of tranquility, the alpine lounge and finally with the heated, uniquely beautiful panoramic natural pool, which was realised in 2009.
We grew with our tasks and from then on took on new challenges with great pleasure: The Chalet Mirabell was to continue to grow thoughtfully while blending harmoniously into the surrounding natural landscape. In 2011, we acquired another adjacent property. Together with our empathetic interior designer, who took a close look at our wishes as well as the needs of our guests and implemented them perfectly, the new luxury hotel Chalet Mirabell was built in just six months: behind the scenes of the SPA zone, separate sauna floor, Alpine Lifestyle restaurant, show kitchen, chalet suites and parking garage, all infrastructures were doubled and a construction volume of 7,000 m² was mastered.
With our latest renovations in 2020/21, we have given our 5-star retreat a new look and exceeded our own expectations – with a new façade, a new indoor-outdoor pool in a class of its own and with new luxurious suites and family rooms. You will be thrilled!
All this would have been difficult to realise without our loyal and energetic staff. With them, we have managed to rise to the top of the South Tyrolean hotel industry. As a team we have a common vision, and we give everything every day anew to more than just meet your demands.
