Take the path leading from the restaurant towards Tschafon until a narrow path forks off to the right. This path leads through the woods up the north face of the Völseggspitz until you get to the clearing with the Refuge Tschafonhütte hut. From the hut, it’s a short climb to the Völseggspitze summit with its outstanding views.

The way down leads out of the clearing in front of the hut to your right and down through the pine wood. Accompanied by the beautiful views over the Rosengarten and the Latemar, carry on down until you get to the Wuhnleger lake, with the Rosengarten reflected in its waters. Then along the tarred road, past the St. Sebastian Chapel and back to your set-off point.

The starting point for the tour is the church in Ums. Then head in the direction “Hofer Alpl, Tuff Alm”, around a few bends on the way, until a path towards “Hofer Alpl, Schlern” begins on the right (trail no. 3). The path to the Hofer Alpl is now fairly steep, leading you uphill through the forest. From the Hofer Alpl, the trail first leads along a forest road, then a footpath and on to the Tuff Alm hut. The path merges into a wide path uphill to the Schlern (trail no. 1). The route crosses the Völser Bach stream and leads on over vast Alpine meadows to the Tuff Alm. Before you get to the hut, a stony trail forks off to the left to the Völser Weiher lake. It winds through the wood and meets with the gravelly road leading to the Tuff Alm hut. After the Huber Weiher lake, turn left onto a walking trail towards Ums (trail no. 2). The path leads down through a woody valley and streams and then over open meadows back to Ums.

This comfortable family hike leads via forest road [1] from Nigerpass (1,668 m) to the Hagner Alm Alpine farm (turning onto trail [4A]) or to the Schiller Hof tavern. Can be walked with a buggy.

Stage 1: The walk begins in the Weißlahnbad and leads through the wild, romantic Tschamintal valley and on to the Rechter Leger, a box-seat setting with views over the peaks of the Grasleitentürme and the Valbonkogel. Ascend through the Grasleiten Valley to the Refuge Grasleitenhütte mountain hut, the first stage destination of the mountain hut tour.

Stage 2: The next morning, the hut tour leads over a rocky glacier arena up the Molignonpass and on to the Refuge Tierser Alpl mountain hut, a wonderful spot for a midday rest. The terrain is flat to begin with, and becomes steeper as you ascend to the high plateau of the Schlern and on to the Refuge Schlernhaus mountain hut, the second stop of the tour.

Stage 3: If you climb up the Petz early in the morning on a clear day, you will witness a breathtakingly beautiful sunrise. The third and last stage of the tour leads you along the trail no. 1 down to the Seiser Alm.

The hike starts at the Niger Pass and follows the hiking trail N° 1 to the Messnerjoch mountain hut. The alpine hut has a children’s playground and is a great destination for all families. This hike can be done in summer as well as in winter.The way back is either on the same path back or in summer you can walk on path N° 1b to the Frommeralm hut and on path N° 1a back to the Niger Pass.

The route begins at the Nigerpass (1,688 m) and leads on trail [1] and then on trail [7] via the Baumann Schwaige Alpine farm (1,826 m) to the Haniger Schwaige Alpine farm (1,937 m). Return via the same route.An alternative route begins in Nova Levante/Welschnofen. Take the cable car up to the Frommeralm tavern. From here, follow trail [1B] to the Messnerjoch Alpine hut, continuing on trail [1] and [7] to the Haniger Schwaige Alpine farm.
