There are 5 ski areas located around Lana, which form part of the greater Ortler ski arena; all five are accessible with one single passcard. These are the five ski areas in the sports and leisure region Meraner Land, and are just as diverse as the region itself.

Aside from the more family-oriented ski area San Vigilio, the area Merano 2000 caters to a younger urban clientele, who look for a livelier entertainment offering after a day of skiing or tobogganing. Schwemmalm in Ulten Valley near Lana is one of the better kept secrets of the region. Ski tourers, combination skiers and freeriders find a variety of challenges here.

Those, who reside in the car-free ski area of Pfelders in the Passeier Valley, never walk longer than three minutes to the nearest ski lift. Among the favourite activities for visitors here are the tours on horseback across snowy landscapes, ice skating on natural ice, cross-country skiing and tobogganing.

At the Schnalser glacier, snow can be found all year round! Skiers enjoy the broad and snow-safe tracks on the glacier. Freestylers, on the other hand, prefer the large-scale local Snowpark.

In all five of these ski areas, snow is guaranteed until the end of March – in the Schnals Valley until the end of June. All 5 areas also offer a large selection of cosy snow huts, pubs and restaurants for a pleasurable resting time.
