Even in his youth, Ulrich Reiterer had a great passion for the mountains. Initially his interest lay in the Alps, where he conquered the highest and most difficult faces (the east face of Monte Rosa, the north face of the Eiger and the east face of the Watzmann). Later he also became interested in the high mountains in the South American Andes (Nevado Alpamayo, Chimborazo, Cotopaxi), and Nepal (Pumo-Ri 7,165 m, Ama Dablam 6,856 m). He undertakes many climbs in the Dolomites, dedicating his time to ice climbing on the frozen waterfalls in winter, whilst enjoying numerous ski tours and traverses in spring. Since 2009 he has turned his passion into a career and – in summer only – is a part time mountain guide.
