Our trip begins at Frommer Alm hut, where the new 10-passenger cable car starts and takes you comfortably and weather-protected to King Laurin’s kingdom at 2.337 m above sea level. As in the mystical legend, you now enter King Laurin’s underground palace with all its colorful lights. As soon as you step outside, the Rosengarten/Catinaccio mountain shows all its charm and invites you to rest, hike, climb or ski.

In only 7 months, the project of the cable car with the hidden mountain station was realised by the renowned South Tyrolean architect Werner Tscholl.

“When I came here to the Rosengarten/Catinaccio for the first time in a long time, its mighty towers and the whole mythos surrounding the mountain became alive for me again. So it’s quite logical that this atmosphere is the first thing that inspires one here.” – Werner Tscholl

Werner Tscholl, chosen as the “Architect of Italy 2016” aimed to touch the beauty of nature as little as possible, and that’s how the idea of the invisible mountain station came about.
