The hiking trail to the rifugio Coston/Hintergrathütte is a beautiful circular trail of about 12 km in length, with a breathtaking view of the surrounding mountain world. The rif. Coston has three floors and is the starting point for the ascent of the Ortler. Next to the mountain hut there is also the so-called Hintergratsee at 2652 m altitude.

Details

Starting from the parking lot of the Orso/Langenstein chairlift, follow trail no. 3 to the rif. Coston/Hintergrathütte. The descent is along path no. 2 to the bottom of the valley of Solda. From there it goes back to the Orso chairlift via path no. 7.

In addition to the three-hour hike, there is also the possibility to hike with the whole family within one hour from the top station Orso to the rif. Coston.

Approach

From Spondigna/Spondinig via the street to the Stelvio Pass SS 38 to Gomagoi, then left to Solda. From Spondigna to the parking area is it approx. 20 km.
