The Beimstein Knott is one of three tuff knolls. These three tuff knolls are of volcanic origin and are unparalleled in South Tyrol. Additionally is impressive for its stunning view overlooking the village of Vöran.

On the red rock is placed a new installation, called “Attimo” installation. It is comprised of five chairlift seats placed in a row, representing an imaginary chairlift.

Details

From the centre of the village Vöran, follow trail No. 16 past Oberwirt Restaurant. Below the Grüner Baum Inn, the trail no. 12 leads to Beimsteinkogel Knoll. After walking back down to the first intersection, the path turns left to trail No. 14, which leads back to the village of Vöran.

Approach

Coming from both directions of the freeway Meran/Merano – Bolzano/Bozen (MEBO), take the exit of Meran Süd/Merano Sud and follow directions towards Meran first, to then turn right towards Hafling/Avelengo, follow the street to Vöran/Verano – the parking place is near the parish church in the centre.
