The Speikboden can also be “scaled” in winter by foot. On the way back, it is possible to use a single run with the cable car. In the wintertime, the paths are cleared and well groomed.  Care must absolutely be taken not to disturb the traffic on the ski slopes. There is the possibility to grab a bite to eat or a hot drink at either the mountain terminal or the valley terminal.

Winter hiking: Descent to Luttach via Schöllberg Alm [alpine hut].

Using the cable car Speikboden to reach an altitude of 2000m. Follow the sled run until Luttach. From Luttach to the parking place of the cable car Speikboden you can use the urban bus. Of course this trail can be walked in ascent too.

Beautiful view on the Zillertaler Alps and the Ahrntal [valley].

Walking time: 2 h 40 min, Distance: 10 km, Descent: 1040 m, Difficulty: easy.
