Perched above Sulden/Solda, the Schaubachhütte mountain hut serves as the starting point for high Alpine tours around the Ortler in winter and summer alike. Beginning at the Sulden cable car valley station, this demanding winter hike follows a gently inclined forest trail on the way up to the hut at an elevation of 2,581 m.

Depart from the car park at the Sulden cable car valley station on trail no. 1, a forest route that leads you on a gentle ascent to the Schaubachhütte mountain hut within approx. 2 hours.

Approach

From Spondinig via Stilfserjoch pass road SS 38 to Gomagoi, then left to Sulden.
