From the farm Egger or the sports area in Antholz Mittertal you take the path no 3 and after about 1 hour you reach the Bergeralm hut. The serpentines lead you uphill to the secured path and then steep up to the Gemsbichljoch and to the Rieserferner hut. Accomodation in multiple bedrooms and in the camp/emergency camp (water, common bathroom, electricity). There is also a winter room.

Ascent also possible from Rein/Sand in Taufers. The next mountain hut is the Kasseler hut (2.276m) reachable by the Mount “Schneebiger Nock” or the Magerstein; high alpine tours.
