Details

a) Follow the path northeasterly from the Parish church of S.Maddalena/Val Casies Valley (1398m) and cross the river and further through the valley Köflertal upwards (path no. 47). At the crossing you turn right and follow the forest path no. 48 to the Tscharnietalm (1976m, no refreshment possibility). You want to follow path no. 48 to the southeast up until the crossing, where you turn left and the follow path no. 48A to the Kalkstein Jöchl (2349m). There you walk the Bonner Höhenweg (no. 12) on the east side. That path, which is about 4.5 km long, leads over steep pastures southward to the Pfanntörl (2511m). Then you can either take the path no. 25 directly to hut Bonner Hütte (2340m, refreshment and overnight-stay possibility) or you choose to descent from the summit of Toblacher Pfannhorn (2663m).

b) Starting at the tourist office of S.Martino/Val Casies Valley (1276m) you want to follow a broad and steep forest path eastward (no. 44) which leads along many bends to the picturesque huts “Außerhütten”. From there on (1670m, no refreshment possibility) you can reach the hut Hinerschuher Alm-Randlhütte (1862m, refreshment possibility) on a considerably flat path. And the hut Tolder Hütte (1942m, refreshment possibility) which is situated about 500m further on the same path. You keep going until you reach Gruberlenke (2487m) and Gaishörndl to Pfanntörl (2615m). From there you follow the path no. 25 to the hut Bonner Hütte (2340m, refreshment and overnight-stay possibility).

c) At first you want to drive by car through the Silverstertal Valley until Weiler Kandellen in Dobbiaco (1595m) which is nearby Restaurant Seiters and offers a parking area. From there you follow a narrow path past the small chapel Kandellen, the restaurant Bergrast and the Hoferhof towards the forest. On the path no. 25 which leads through the valley Golfental, you will reach the hut Bonner Hütte (2340m, refreshment and overnight-stay possibility).

Approach

 Coming from Innsbruck/Brennero (A): Drive on the Highway of Brennero (A22) until the exit Bressanone/Val Pusteria, then go on along the SS49-E66 for about 58kms until you arrive in Monguelfo. To get to Tesido and the Val Casies Valley, we recommend to take the exit West in Monguelfo. Coming from Lienz (A): You can reach us also padding by Lienz in Westtyrol (A). You have to cross the Austrian-Italian border between Ahrnbach and Winnebach (B100-E66) and drive on the SS46-E66 until Monguelfo. To get to Tesido and the Val Casies, we recommend to take the exit West in Monguelfo.
