The easy hike next to alp-meadows leads to the Häusler Sam, where typical south tyrolean food can be tasted. The trail, which passses also woods, brings the hikers close to the alpine nature of the “Sam Hill”. The Häusler Sam is an alpine rest-stop on a meadow surrounded by forest.

 

Details

Starting from the upper parking lot in Obereggen, proceed along the trail [9, 21A] until you come to the Bewallerhof. Then take the left trail [S-Samweg] until you come to the Häusler Sam.

Approach

On the Brenner (A 22 Brenner autobahn – toll), take the Bozen Nord/Eggental (Eggen Valley) autobahn exit and proceed approx. 0.5 km towards Bozen/Bolzano. At the roundabout, turn left into the Eggen Valley (SS 241). Continue along the Dolomites Road until you come to Birchabruck. There, turn right and proceed to Deutschnofen / Nova Ponente (30 minutes from the Bozen Nord/Eggental autobahn exit).
