Hike through the Uinaschlucht Gorge – on the Smugglers’ Paths
Details

Take the chairlift to the Watles mountain station. From here, hike the Schliniger Höhenweg (Slingia Alpine Ridgeway)  to the Sesvennahütte mountain hut (2.256 m), continuing to the Schlinig Pass (2.309 m) and the Swiss border (2.295 m). From here, head to the Uinaschlucht gorge (a unique trail roughly 900 m in length carved into the rock between 1908 and 1910, roughly 1 hour from the Sesvennahütte mountain hut) and continue on to Sur-En (CH – 1.125 m).

From the gorge, the return trip can be made via the same trail or by public transport. www.sii.bz.it

Possible refreshment stops include the Plantapatschhütte mountain hut, the Watles mountain station, the Sesvennahütte or in Sur-En.

Approach

Trought the Vinschgau Valley to Malles – Burgusio, than take the way to Watles valley station in Prämajur.
