The trail leads from the Sterzinger valley bottom to Schmuders hamlet and up to the typical Prantneralm mountain hut, which invites with a great view on the surrounding mountains. The hike descends from the pasture to the Novale hamlet and passes the Strassberg ruin, where centuries ago the local counts had their habitation.

Details

Start by Schloss Moos building on trail 24 to Flains. Turn right on trail 25 just before entering the village. Ascent to the Braunhof farm and right behind turn on the right side into trail 3, crossing the Strobelgraben, until you will arrive to the forrestal road. Following the road to the Prantneralm mountain hut. By the hut turn left and descent on a difficult trail through the forrest to the Strassberg ruin. Return to the starting point on trail 21 over Oberried village and Flains village. Lunch possibilities: Braunhof, Prantneralm, Restaurant Sonnenheim.

Vipiteno – Prati – after the undergrade crossing of the railway by the chapel on the left to Castel Palù.
