Legends and stories about the Sextner Tal valley and the Alta Pusteria/Hochpustertal valley have been told and passed on here for years. Now these many fairytales and stories have been used to create a Fable Trail (Fabelweg) in Sesto. Figures depicting characters from all kinds of legends have been set up along the route, giving visitors an insight into a different world.

Details

Starting from the church in Sesto, the adventurous Fabelweg can be reached via the path of reflection (path no. 2 A), its destination is at the summit station of Monte Elmo. For less experienced hikers, the Fabelweg can also be reached from the Helm mountain station downhill. The difference in altitude from the valley (church) is about 700m, the walking time is about 2.5 hours. Starting at the mountain station Monte Elmo/Helm: approx. 1.5 hours (with 700 m in the descent).

Approach

By car or bus to Sesto (Centre). The starting point of the hike is at church of Sesto, parking area is available. Alternatively, you can take the cable car to the Monte Elmo /Helm (parking lot and bus stop directly at the cable car) and start from there.
