Our valley has a wealth of scenic places for trail running, i.e. running on unsurfaced trails. Amid the meadows and forests, at the foot of the imposing peaks of the Dolomites, running is the very best way to experience nature.

The especially sporty, fast version of trail running is called speed hiking. The route suggested here starts in Corvara and is particularly suitable for speed hiking: the first part goes across gentle meadows and the last, steep part through the forest.

Details

The route starts in Corvara at the Boè gondola lift. Follow the trail through the meadows towards Pescosta and up to the area of Merscia. Here, take the steep trail no. 4A towards the Sassongher massif and run up as far as the Col Pradat.

Head down Col Pradat on trail no. 3 along the Stella Alpina valley. First you come to the village of Colfosco before continuing along a wide, level trail towards Merscia and back to Corvara.
