Starting point: Wans at 1,439 m
Walk along a forest path to the Wanser Alm alpine pasture (1,627 m a.s.l.). From there to the end of the valley, where one first keeps to the left and then through an arc to the right, and finally an ever steeper incline leads to the awaiting Wanser Joch ridge (2,256 m a.s.l.). From there ascend to the Sarntal Valley side, until reaching the ridges and summits of the Alpenspitze peak.
Departure: same as ascent. In very good conditions, it is possible to descent via the Sailer Valley to the starting point.
