Starting point: Plan/Pfelders at 1,628 m
Setting out to Lazins from the car park in Plan, pass the AVS mountain hut. Turn left after about 140 m towards the Grünboden ski slopes. After a further 60 m follow trail no. 6, which leads right to Faltschnal mountain hut.
Go uphill through a larch forest, across the sled run and follow the signs to the Faltschnal/Spronser Joch ridge. The Faltschnal mountain hut is located just above the treeline and boasts a wonderful scenic view. Behind the pasture, turn slightly to the left and walk up to a wide ridge (at 1,950 m). From here there’s a fantastic view of the mountains surrounding the Ötztal Valley including the Zwickauer Hütte mountain hut and the Seelenkogel mountain.
Descend across the Faltschnal torrent, before climbing 70 m and head straight into the woods. On reaching the Lazins trail, cross back over the Faltschnal torrent and the cross-country ski trail and keep slightly to the right, as far as the Pfelderer Bach torrent. Cross the bridge and proceed to Zeppichl before heading back to the starting point.
