The snowshoe hike on the Cima Lasta/Astjoch Peak (2,194 m) followed by a toboggan run is one of the most rewarding things to do in the area. The magnificent summit view of the surrounding mountains is simply impressive.

Before you start for a snowshoe hike you should always consult the avalanche report and weather report!

Details

Starting point is the car park Kreuzner in Elle/Ellen. From there, the trail no. 67 leads after one-hour hike to the Kaser huts. After a total of two hours, the peak of Cima Lasta is reached from the east side. After a descent on the west side, the trail no. 67B leads to the Rastnerhütte hut (possibility of restoration). A short rise brings back to the Val Pusteria side. The trail which brings back to Elle can be run by snowshoes or toboggan.

How to Get There By car, it is easily accessible from the A22 (Brenner motorway), exit Bressanone/Brixenin Val Pusteria/Pustertal, San Lorenzo/St. Lorenzen, Pflaurenz, Montal, Elle/Ellen.
