Take the Vellau bus to Oberplars or hike via Mitter- and Oberplars to the Saxnerhof. The Kieneggerweg (sign) turn off to the left from the Saxnerpath # 26A and leads you with a steep ascent through the forest to the mountain restaurant Kienegger (1,101 metres) – just above Vellau (beautiful views). Return journey on path # 26 to Vellau, then by bus to Algund centre or by chair lift to Mitterplars.
