This hike passes several mountain farms that have been inhabited for centuries. Much of it has been modernized in recent decades and adapted to today’s age. Even today, the mountain farmers are still South Tyrol’s “landscape gardeners”; and play a major role in preserving this typical, unmistakable cultural landscape.
Details

With the cable car Unterstell it goes up to 1. 300 m to the mountain station at Berggasthof Unterstell. From there the hike starts, always slightly uphill of the marker no. 10 following, to the courtyard Patleid. Once you have arrived at the farm, take the hiking trail no. 24a continue in the direction of Schnalstal until the crossroads with the Merano high-altitude trail No. 24, about halfway between the farms Innerunterstell and Lint. Following the Meraner Höhenweg in an easterly direction, you first reach the Berggasthof Lint, and finally, in front of the Innerforch farm, the turn-off of trail 24b. On this path we go downhill to the viewing platform, which protrudes far out and offers a magnificent panoramic view, and then further down to the starting point at the mountain station the cable car Unterstell. Return by cable car to the valley.

Approach

Starting from the centre of Naturno, the valley station of the Unterstell cable car in the village of Kompatsch can be reached in about 15 minutes on foot.
