The hike along the irrigation channel path starts at the farm Birkenhof in Schluderns/ Sluderno, ascending on trail n. 21 to the farmsteads Gschneir (1,340 m), where the entrance to the Gschneirerwaal begins on the left. The hike runs along the Vinschgau Valley High Mountain Trail, signposting n. 19, first through clear slopes with a beautiful view of the valley and then through a forest of conifers. After walking along the sunny side of the valley, past the farm Greinhof, where soon the descent on the Berkwaal irrigation channel path, trail n. 17, appears. The irrigation channel path leads left out of the valley through the gorge to the farm Vernalhof and along the Sonnensteig trail back to the starting point. Refreshments: Birkenhof farm, in the restaurants in Schluderns/ Sluderno
