The earth pyramids near Collepietra are a fascinating natural display of erosion at work. To get to these hoodoos, start at Collepietra and take an easy 2-hour hike (following the marking “gelbe Pyramiden” – “Yellow Pyramids”) to Katzenbachschlucht and through Lahnenweg trail. This trail takes you just below the earth pyramids. Continue on via Raffeinerhof up to Dosser-Kreuz and from here, you hike down to the imposing spires. On your way back, take trail no. 2 via Katzenbachweg back to Steinegg.
