The route is easy to ride, there are no special height differences to be overcome. Three bike service areas invite you to have a rest: one stop at Vilpian shortly after the Etsch Bridge, a short drive further in Gargazon and one stop at Burgstall/Lana (via the “Old Railway Bridge”).

Attractions in Lana:

  • The Schnatterpeckaltar in the parish church of Niederlana
  • Museum of Fruit-Growing at Brandiser Waalweg No. 4 (near the golf course).

Details

The starting point is the main square of Terlan. The Etsch cycle path can be reached via the Andrianer Weg. The cycling path leads to the Lana / Burgstall train station. Here you turn in direction to Lana and on the toll road to Niederlana, at the golf course to Krebsbach. On the Konsortialweg in the direction of Gargazon to the bridge, cross it and shortly afterwards turn left to the Gargazon train station and there onto the cycle path ride back to Terlan.

Approach

BY CAR: From the direction of Innsbruck or Verona: Exit the Brenner motorway (A22) at Bolzano South, take the MEBO dual carriageway in the direction of Merano/Meran and exit either at Terlano By rail: Change at Bolzano for the Merano/Meran line and alight at Terlano.
