Starting in the center of the village of Cermes, taking Baslinger Strasse and Lebenberger Strasse the route heads somewhat steeply uphill to Lebenberg Castle (one of the most beautiful residences in our area). It is possible to visit the castle between April and beginning of November every day except Sunday, and this is well worthwhile. From there the trail continues to head uphill for a short while to the former Tauferer Badl, then branches off to the right past the ruins of Holdersberg Castle.

From there a road leads downhill, past Halbweg to the hairpin bend with the sign pointing to the Marlinger Höhenweg high mountain trail. Now the trail continues with only a slight difference in altitude, past the Ausserholzmoar Hof farm, reaching the Senn am Egg inn after approx. 2 hours. For those who do not wish to return via the same route, it is possible to continue the descent to Forst on this trail and then either walk back along the Marlinger Waalweg irrigation channel path or take the bus back.

Details

From the center in Tscherms first over the Baslinger Straße 33A and then the Lebenberger Straße quite steeply ascending to the “Halbweg” and past to the bend. The “Marlinger Höhenweg” starts here. Continue along this path until you reach the Senn am Egg. From there always along the Höhenweg down to the bus stop in Töllgraben.
