For this trip, it is recommended to take the bus or make your way to Vellau using the basket lift facility to the Leiter Alm. From there, take the Hochgangweg # 24, now called Meran mountain road, to the Hochgang refuge hut (1.5 hours). From the refuge hut, take path # 7 in the direction of Partschins (approx. 1,000 metres difference in altitude) and walk to Oberhaus – Niederhaus. Cross the Töllgraben to your left and walk to the Saxner mill.  From there, path # 7 leads you down to Plars – Algund.
