Latschander irrigation channel trail
Martello Valley, Vinschgau Valley
Description
The last big irrigation path of the Val Venosta Valley dates back to 1873, using the waters of the Adige River near Goldrain at an altitude of 660 metres and ending after 6 kilometres in Galsaun, municipality of Castelbello.
Details

There are two possible entrances: the Tisserweg (west of Latsch) and at the roundabout, eastern entrance to the village. The first section towards Castelbello is embedded in a rather wild-looking strip of landscape that overlooks the state road, the course of the Adige River and the railway tracks. Then the valley opens up. The irrigation path first lines fruit orchards and vineyards that were created above Kastelbell Castle. The water flow of the Waal depends exclusively on agriculture and weather conditions.
