The LATEMAR.NATURA trail was made for families and nature-lovers and leads through alpine landscapes and altitude zones to discover natural habitats of the alpine region. Interactive stations make the hikers aware of the nature around and acquaint them with the local flora and fauna.
Details

The hike starts from the mountain station of the panoramic chair lift at Obereggen and leads on path n. 18 to the platform Latemar.360°. There is a spectacular panoramic outlook on mountaintops and the plateaus waiting for the hikers. The path n. 22 takes you further up to the mountain station Absam-Maierl and to the Mayrl hut. Afterwards take path n. 23 to return to the Oberholz chair lift.

Approach

Take highway’s exit “Bolzano Nord/Eggental”, turn right direction Bolzano/Bozen, after about 0,5 km on roundabout keep left and head towards Val d’Ega (SS 241). Keep driving up to Ponte Nova. At Ponte Nova’s crossroads, turn to the right and continue to Obereggen (about 20 min. from highway toll booth).
