The starting point for this mountain bike tour is the Etschbrücke bridge in the centre of Castelbello/Kastelbell village (577 m). From the Etschbrücke in Castelbello the Uphill Marzoneralm trail first leads over a very steep paved mountain road to the hamlet of Montefranco/Freiberg (1,200 m). Above Montefranco near the Pramanthof farm (km 6.6), the surface changes to gravel and the gradient is no longer so steep. The forest road winds its way up to the ‘Säge’ car park (1,480 m) and on to the Marzoneralm Alpine farm (1,600 m). The next part of the Bike Highline Meran is technically more demanding, the trail is sometimes narrow and exposed. Shortly below the car park Schartegg the exit direction Tschars begins. Crossing the Etsch bridge in Ciardes you reach the cycle path the starting point, than the to the starting point.
