This is a great MB classic, which leads far up into the Hirzer region and offers fantastic views. The route follows the narrow and paved access road to the farms in the hamlet of Tall and then continues along on well-maintained forest roads.
From the artisan district, follow the narrow and sometimes steep tarred road toward Tall. In a sharp right bend (small bridge), just before reaching the hamlet of Prenn (middle station of the Hirzer cable car) turn left (signs “Hochwies” and “Wiesbauer”). Continue up the road until the beginning of the forest road is reached, which leads to Gompmalm. Keep left at the fork and continue along the consistently good forest path up to the crossroads at Hirzerhütte. Carry on straight to the overlying Tallneralm and continue along the wide gravel road to Hintereggalm.
