The cycle path from Toblach/Dobbiaco to Bruneck/Brunico is particularly suitable for beginners and families with children. With hardly any inclines, rest areas and playgrounds along the way, this day trip is particularly popular with little cyclists.
You can go home comfortably on the new trains, which can also take back your bicycles. Alternatively, the bikes can be borrowed in Toblach and returned in Bruneck.

Details

The cycle route starts in Toblach/Dobbiaco (can also be started in Innichen/San Candido) and leads along the Rienz river through forests to Niederdorf/Villabassa, through the village and on towards the Prags/Braies valley. At the entrance to the valley, the cycle path crosses the road over a bridge and continues in a westerly direction to Welsberg/Monguelfo. There is a shady park with a playground.

The tour then passes the Olang/Valdaora reservoir and Percha/Perca, where it is a sports field and playground. Shortly before the end of the cycle path is reached, it leads into the Rienz Gorge and through a dimly lit tunnel. Then the basin opens again and the city of Bruneck/Brunico is at your feet.

The bike tour can be interrupted in any village in the Pustertal/Val Pusteria valley and the return journey can be started by train.
