This tour with it´s 500 meters in height, rewards easy taking cyclists which can look at a fantastic mountain panorama of the Ortler-Cevedale group and the cultured meadows of the Upper Venosta Valley. Looking precisely, you can also discover the first and only Italian whisky distillery and the corn fields in Glurns, while enjoying the pleasant sunrays at the Sonnenberg.
The tour starts at the train station in Mals. Through the beautiful center, partly dotted with Latin houses, reaching the northern edge of the village towards Malettes. There follow the signage no. 64 across the gravel military road slightly uphill to the Malettesböden at 1,606 m and reached the top enjoy the view of Ortler, Gran Zebrú and Co. On the sunny slope moving onwards to Muntatschinig to stop by a traditional Tyrolean afternoon snack called “Marende” in Buschenschank Rainalter. Then easy going down across the Matscher way directly to the centre of Mals (no.5).
