De old train station Auer/Ora Val di Fiemme was the starting point for the railroad from Auer to Predazzo, passing through Montan/Montagna, Truden/Trodena and Kaltenbrunn/Fontanefredde. In 1894, the construction of a railroad has already been considered. Due to WWI, the Austrian army command started the building of the railway, which was an important means of transportation for replenishment to the battle line of the dolomites. From 1918, the railway was also established for passenger service. In 1930 the train, which has been pulled by a steam engine, has been electrified, thus reduced the travel time from 4 to 2 hours. Due to the growing mobilization and the introduction of a bus connection to Val di Fiemme, the train lost its importance. In 1963, the train ran one last time before abolished. Today, the railway track is a famous path for cycling tours or hiking excursions. The old train station Auer Val di Fiemme is a location for several cultural events and concerts.
