Starting at the tourist office in Monguelfo (1087m) you walk towards the central square and northeasterly inbetween houses to the middle school. From there on you follow the path „Schlossrunde“ and after a light ascent you will reach Castle Welsperg (1150m). To get back to the starting point you walk through the forest downwards to the bridge over the river of Val Casies Valley. The former Val Casies Valley street will lead you back to Monguelfo.

Approach

Coming from Innsbruck/Brennero (A): Drive on the Highway of Brennero (A22) until the exit Bressanone/Val Pusteria, then go on along the SS49-E66 for about 58kms until you arrive in Monguelfo. Coming from Lienz (A): You can reach us also padding by Lienz in Westtyrol (A). You have to cross the Austrian-Italian border between Ahrnbach and Winnebach (B100-E66) and drive on the SS46-E66 until Monguelfo.
