The starting point is Cauria, an idyllic mountain village (1,230 m) above Salorno. From the car park behind the little church, the E5 European long distance path leads through lush meadows and magnificent forests to the lago Biano lake, located at 1,670 m on a plateau. In 15 minutes you reach the Lago Nero. From here E5 European long distance path goes on to the Monte Corno Alm (1,710 m), which offers a fantastic view of the Lagorai range of mountains up to as far as the Ritten/Renon plateau. Take path E5 and then 3 to the pass of Cauria. The Gfrillner path no. 4 runs past the Drei Fichten Hof back to Cauria.
