Mountain tour to Lutterkopf
Tures Aurina Valley, Puster Valley
Description
In spite of its rather limited height the Lutterkopf is a stunningly beautiful mountain summit located further in the Valle Aurina-Ahrntal and it is a relatively easy climb. The area is quite isolated and original.
Details

The starting point is the bus stop Kaserne in San Pietro-St. Peter (1241 m). You briefly take the road going into the valley and soon you arrive at the signpost that guides you onto trail nr. 18 and turns right towards the Pipperg Alm and into the Poinlandtal (valley). The trail runs through the forest until you reach the Pipperg Alm (1912 m). The way to Lutterkopf now leads right heading east, circling the base of the mountain. Now you are in the Pürschtal (valley) until the path takes you left leading to the summit (2295 m). The way back is the same as the way there. Tip for a loop-tour: experienced hikers can continue on trail nr. 18 and then reach the slightly higher Blauspitz ( 2558 m) and descend on a yoke ( 2437 m). Descending on trail nr. 2 you get into the heart of the quaint Poinlandtal and Pipperg Oberhütte (Upper hut) (2126 m). Soon after you once again meet the nr. 18 trail near the Pipperg Alm and descend on it until you reach your starting point; additional time needed: about 3 hours
