Selva Gardena is located at the end of the valley surrounded by the rich flora and fauna of the Dolomites. The Unesco World Heritage peaks watch over this charming village, an excellent meeting place for families, as well as a starting point for sports and outdoor activities. There are several oppurtunities for hiking and climbing, for exciting descents in the Dolomiti Superski area, for adventurous rock and ice climbs, for mountain biking and snowshoeing. All year round, Selva Gardena offers a comprehensive range of carefully planees activities to make you experience unforgettable moments in the mountains.

Details

From Selva Val Gardena walk in direction of the „Hotel Scoiattolo“, near the ski school of Selva Val Gardena (Dantercepies street). The track begins behind the hotel. Here follow the steep, uphill path to the stunning view point “Sai Uedli”. Continue walking until you spot a statue of the Virgin Mary, carved in 1999 by students of the Gardena Art school. Move on to path 12B to “Costabella”. Walk through “Risaccia” along path n. 14, to enter the picturesque Vallunga valley. In Vallunga you can find the chapel of S. Silvestro, dedicated to the patron saint of cattle.

Approach

From the centre of Selva Gardena take the Dantercepiesstreet, after 300 m you can find the Hotel Scoiattolo on your right.
