Funes, Eisack Valley & Wipp Valley
:
Description
Beautiful alpine hike along the mountain massif Aferer Geisler/Odle di Eroes.
Details

Start: Zans (1,680 m) continue northwards along the Kaserill stream on the main road. We will soon turn left on route 32 A (oberer Herrensteig), which runs up a steep slope into the forest then continues on a less steep path with some flat sections. Above the forest we will take the Günther Messner route (2,250 m, with signposts) to the right until the next intersection (at approx. 2,580 m). Here we turn left and trudge up on scree to a col then a ridge and eventually reach the Tullen Peak (2,652 m); at least 3 hours from the start Recommended return route: via the same route to the lower intersection (2,250 m approx.), then turn right to the «Kofelwiese» meadow. Here (follow directions to Zans) turn left to the «Unterer Herrensteig», route 32, which takes you back to Zans along a plain and then steeply downhill; 2.5 hours from the summit.

Approach

Through the Eisacktal/Valle Isarco valley to Klausen/Chiusa turn into Villnöss/Funes valley and drive to Zans.
