The hike starts at the car park in Slingia/Schlinig, past the cross-country skiing center and onto trail no. 10 past the Kälberalm alpine pasture (not open to the public) and over the Kälberberg mountain. From there continue to Monterodes mountain (2,361 m), where the view to the Schlinigtal valley opens up.
