Description
The scenic Astjoch (Cima Lasta) is the highest elevation on the Rodenecker Alm. This hike leads from Ellen/Elle near St. Lorenzen/San Lorenzo to this popular lookout peak in the Lüsner mountains. 
Details

The hike to the Astjoch starts at the Kreuzner car park above the hamlet of Ellen. Below the parking lot, the well-marked forest trail no. 67 in the direction of Astjoch/Burgstall. It leads in a pleasant ascent to the cozy alpine hut Walderalm, which invites you after about an hour to enjoy a break with a view of the Brunecker valley basin. 

Behind the cozy Walderalm the path winds its way to the nearby forest border and then climbs gently through meadows and heath slopes to the Astjoch. In addition to the high summit cross, there is a breathtaking panoramic view of the Pustertal valley, the Zillertal Alps, the Eisacktal valley and the Dolomites. A panoramic point reveals the names of some of the surrounding mountain peaks.
